Needle Minder of the Month!

Happy Summer! I wanted to hop on here quickly and give you guys a recap of my plans with this program. I'm LOVING it! So here it goes....

What is it? The Needle Minder of the Month club is a paid for program available at The Quilt Spot and other retailers. This program is designed by Bev McCullough of Flamingo Toes and it is a monthly subscription that includes an exclusive needle minder, cross stitch pattern, embroidery pattern and DMC floss to make the designs each month.

When did it start? It started in July 2026 and will run for 12 months.

What do the designs look like? It's a mystery. I know mysteries are not for everyone, but I love the element of surprise so I'm all in!

Can I still join? YES! While supplies last, you can join and get caught up as long as we can still get the kits. If we run out, be sure to check with your local shop to see if they have spots available.

What are you making? Well here's the fun part! I am going to stitch both the cross stitch patterns and make them into small projects each month and I'm going to embroider the designs and turn them into quilt blocks that I will put into a quilt when they are all done.

I'll be posting more pictures on social media, but here is what I made for July and August! I stitched both of these on 28 Ct. Lambswool Lugana with the DMC from the kit. If you click the links below I put together basic instructions and supplies for these pillows.

For the embroidery designs, I'm going to use a Moda Linen 32911-11 for the embroidery and Riley Blake's C120 Vintage White for the background of the quilt blocks. I'm no embroidery pro, but that's kind of the fun in embroidery. I've been watching a few embroidery videos and trying some new things. I feel like even after these 2 blocks I have improved. I pulled together the fabric requirements and basic instructions for this quilt I'm planning. Click the link below for a printable version of these instructions. There are still a few TBD's in the instructions because I'm not sure what I'll use for the sashing and border yet, but when I get those settled I'll be sure to tell you.

We'll be cutting fabric packs of what I'm using each month at the store. These are a very limited supply because we're picking these fabrics based on what we have when we get to see the designs. Each month's fabric pack will include 4 coordinating fat quarters. These fabric packs are sold separately from the program. Each fabric pack will have enough fabric to make the small cross stitch project and a quilt block each month.

I can't wait to see how this project turns out! I hope you guys decide to join us! I just finished September and it's even cuter than these two!

As always, I hope this inspires you to make something today!
